Luckily for most of us, the skinny on skinny jeans is that you don’t actually have to be skinny. Indeed, the operative word in this style refers to the cut of the pant, and not the wearer: they are long and narrow, hence, skinny.
If you’re not waif-thin like today’s hottest models and most popular celebrities, don’t worry, you can still pull the look off. Begin with a slightly-modified skinny jean; instead of a legging-style denim pant, go with a flattering straight-legged pant that doesn’t hug your ankle tightly. They won’t have a bootleg, but they won’t be skintight, either.
Second, remember your favorite “black is slimming” mantra. The same goes for skinny jeans, which have the potential to make you look long and lean, if you buy them in dark blue or gray-black. Pair the jeans with a flattering top that will add balance to your outfit, preferably something sexy and loose, like your favorite empire-waist top or flowing tunic.
Lastly, for your new outfit’s coup de gräce, pair it with sexy heels. Make sure that your pant leg ends mid-heel, and your legs will look instantly longer, sexier, and more appealing. Now if that isn’t flattering, I don’t know what is.

If I ask you what influenced your current haircut or where did you get the idea of getting your hair cut that way, what would you tell me? Would you say that you just invented it? Or would you tell me that you got it from the latest magazine where your favorite actors or actresses were featured having the same cut? Well, I think it would be the latter. And the rationale is simple: you saw it in the best fashion magazine with your favorite celebrity haircuts as the model and wanted to cut your hair the same as him or her. But unlike the first one, the reason why you really wanted it is harder to decipher.
You might have requested your own hairdresser to cut and style your hair the way it was made as shown in the latest fashion magazine so you can get the look of your idol. Or maybe you just want to impress your friends, loved ones or colleagues. Perhaps you were touched behind the story of the new haircut that your idol had which you can relate with. Whatever it is, let’s just be thankful that professionals are always inventing new haircut trends for people in and out of showbiz.

Wow - I just lost an hour trawling a tee site - that doesn’t happen very often. Two reasons. One, there are hundreds of tees in there, all very wearable, very civilised, things your mom would approve of. But that doesn’t mean they’re boring - there’s loads of interesting stuff in here. It’s just that they don’t have bad jokes, innuendo, or movie references all over the place.
The second reason is the sheer amount of photography on the site. The philosophy is obviously that once the model is in the tee, just keep snapping. Once you’ve snapped - publish. Makes for a very comprehensive site, you know EXACTLY what you’ll be buying. The site has more than just tees, but enough tees to be worth a mention.
Third reason - I know I said two, but there are three. Free international shipping. FREE international shipping - on most stuff. Great stuff. Some example pics - just have a rummage on the Tee links.

Have you started to notice that your baby is itching his face on a constant and regular basis? Plus your baby is very restless and nights and it not able to sleep at all. The fact of the matter is that you baby is itching, and it can be an indication of eczema.
One of the first things that you need to do is to visit your doctor and to have your baby checked in order to rest your concerns, and to follow any advice that you doctor offers. If you are still noticing that your baby is still itching then it is up to you to discover what the source of the itch is, as it could be something as simple as the fabrics that your baby is wearing or the detergent that you are using.

Bubble Calendar; who doesn’t like popping bubble wrap (or who can’t stop)? Now you can do it every day of the year!!

50 Designers’ Current Favorite Typefaces; found this on Johno’s blog (ilovetypography.com). The book is limited edition because they were printed for free so unfortunately they are out of stock.
But according to James from createreject.com, if you are anywhere near London right now, there are still some copies in Koenig Books in Charing Cross Road and Artwords in Shoreditch. Proceeds of the book sales go to Unicef.

Pantone Expresso Cups; although I quit drinking coffee a year ago (it was a very long and hard withdrawal), maybe I should start again just so I can buy these Pantone cups and drink in style and pretend that I’m a better designer than I actually am. Actually, screw that I’m going to stick with my Chinese herbal teas but I’ll be drinking them out of pantone cups.

Romain Laurent; some very very cool photo manipulations by a very talented designer.

Cable Box (by Blue Lounge); if you know me and have seen my desk at work or at home, you’ll know I need one of these… BAD.

Lovemomiji.com’s Collection; for the lovers of all things CUTE, check out their collection and their shop! *ahem Richelle.

Sonya Gladiator Sandal by Dolce Vita; we all know we love gladiator sandals and can’t get enough of them! So totally sexy. Yummy.

Jean-Michel Cazabat Twister Sandals in Gold; and you thought Gladiator sandals were hot? Check out these snake themed sandals; very very sexy and Cleopatra-like. I like. I like. Now I hope someone gets them for me

Hautelook.com is having a Vix sale. Very very cute bikini’s- perfect for this perfect weather we’ve been having. Unfortunately I’ll be saying no to this until I get back to my “regular” weight. Damn office job, and gourmet cafeteria (and free gym access that I rarely take advantage of)!!

One type of jewelry that is hot in today’s fashion world is initial jewelry. As it implies, initial jewelry is jewelry that in one way or another shows the initial of your name. The most popular type of initial jewelry is a necklace or bracelet that has a hanging pendent of your initial. Other trendy varieties are anklets and jewelry with the initials flush against the piece as opposed to hanging as a pendant. The pendant that you choose can range from as simple as a colored plastic one to as glamorous as a sparkling diamond one. Find out how to choose a piece that suits your personality.

Initial jewelry is all the rage and people are scooping them up almost as fast as they can be crafted. Wearing your initial makes the piece more personal; in addition one surprising aspect that has developed from this trend is that it makes for a great conversation starter! Seeing a sparkling letter, many will ask what the letter stands for. One type of initial jewelry is a letter, whether in gold, silver or platinum along with your birthstone. This type of piece is very popular in regard to gift giving as well.
If you are going to buy a piece in gold, you should know the basics of how gold initial jewelry will be rated. Gold is crafted into jewelry using either 24, 18, 16, 14, 12 or 10 karat gold. If you buy initial jewelry in 10 karat gold, you should be aware that many do not consider 10 karat to be “real” gold as the amount of gold will be very low. 24 karat gold is pure gold, any number lower than 24 means that another metal has been blended into the gold. One main reason that metal is added is because pure gold is very soft and usually not workable for jewelry. 18 karat gold is 75% gold and considered to be top quality in regards to initial jewelry and any other type: it is strong, durable and a good quality of pure gold will be in the piece.

Two models turned fashion design duo is Milla Jovovich and partner Carmen Hawk. They are next Go International Designers for Target.com Jovovich-Hawk will debut their collection for target this Spring. Target will be carrying a lower-priced junior themed line of Jovovich-Hawk starting in Spring 2008. Milla will be shooting a TV commercial for the collection in Los Angeles, which will be shown during the New York Mercedes Benz Fall ‘08 Fashion Week. Milla says: “Our Target line will have all our classic pieces: smock dresses, tunics, minis, all vintage-inspired, great prints. We took the things that sold the best for us but we’re doing it on a bigger scale. To be able to do it with a big company that can afford to do it for a good price so that real girls can afford it. That’s the reason we were interested.”
I’m hoping this line will be more up my alley. I always get excited about the Go collections, but once I get in the store and try stuff on, it just doesn’t work out for me. Perhaps this time around it will be different (keep telling myself that). Always the fashion optimist. Update: Don’t see much here for me but the boots, oh well!

Today is the first day of new student orientation at the School of Informatics. I headed in early to talk up GISA and Indy Startup Weekend, getting to see a slick slideshow movie of all the new faces and their countries of origin. In the midst of local academic excitement over the new crop of techies, an appropriate tweet appeared and pointed me to Yearbook Yourself, with a warning of time suckage. You are similarly warned.

Yearbook Yourself lets you create yearbook photos from your past.
Yearbook Yourself is an interactive ad for shopping malls that allows you to upload a photo and re-imagine it as a yearbook photo in selected years between 1950-2000. Taubman Centers, a national mall owner and operator, partnered with Colle+McVoy in Minneapolis to create the innovative tool. Yearbook Yourself is offered both online and in the physical malls, with the focus on the teen fashion market.
The context of both time and region are important. Each year is accompanied by a brief description of fashion of that period and an appropriate soundtrack. You begin the process by selecting your gender and a specific mall from which to draw your threads and hairstyle. I chose Woodfield Mall, which was the closest such structure to my childehood home until I was a teen.
After you upload a face-forward photo of yourself, you can browse through the years and see yourself in different yearbook photos. Once you find the picture you want, you can save it to a group yearbook and invite others to add their photos to the mix as well.
Some of the older yearbook photos look eerily like my dad (even having used my Mii avatar instead of an actual photo). I appear to have put on a little weight around the turn of the century, but that ‘88 hair could actually be mine.

Lots of our readers are college students- and a lot of them love to tell us about how bad their school dresses. So, in that vein, we’ve collected a list of 18 fashion faux pas straight from local colleges and universities- from socks with sandals to backwards baseball hats- and it’s time to make them known to the fashion foolish students out there.
No more of this, PLEASE. Backwards baseball caps were in vogue when we were all playing SNES in our parent’s basement and drinking Tab Cola, not in the 21st Century. Baseball caps are NEVER fashionable, stop wearing them.
